What is a Residential Certificate or Domicile Certificate?
The Government of India issues Residential Certificates to all the eligible Indian Nationals through local State and Union Territory Governments. The local State Government’s and Union Territory Government’s issue Residential/Domicile certificate through Mandal Revenue Offices to all the eligible residents of their jurisdiction. Such issued Residential Certificate is valid throughout the State.
Residential Certificate recognizes and enables its holder to prove his/her residency in all the Government & Private Sector official works. Almost all the States and Union Territory Governments are providing online facility through their States and Union Territories official portals. Residential certificate can be applied online by visiting the official portal or it can be applied offline by visiting the MRO office in person.
